I don't remember the seat being that big. Almost looks like it's from a Polaris. Sits way up where a normal tank would be. Getting a smaller seat would give you a little more tank room.

I'm not sure if it will fit since the engine looks pretty tall, but here is the original gas tank for the lt250s with the petcock on ebay:

I hope you mean picked it up on the side of the road, not paid for it............ lol. Don't know what to think of the front mounted gas tank, definately some red neck engineering going on here.
