Default 86 LT230 Issues

Hey Guys, hoping someone can help me get my lt230 running right. Bought it at the beginning of the year and got it running, ran it a dozen times without issue until a couple weeks ago on the sand it cut it out and wouldn't restart. The exhaust got very hot and melted the paint off. The problem is it will only run under half to full throttle, will not idle, and still runs hot enough to make the exhaust pipe smoke. I have replaced the CDI module with another used unit, reset the valve timing to factory specs, cleaned the carburetor out completely, and verified that the timing is dead set on (didn't jump a tooth). Any idea's would be appreciated, as I am supposed 2 leave for another dunes trip in 2 days!

Thanks!

Adjust the valves. And really make sure every jet in the carb is clean. Also, make sure you don't have an air leak in your top end.

I have readjusted the valve lash and checked the jets again. The quad will still only run only part to full throttle, will not idle, and the exhaust is real hot. Pretty much out of time to work on it now, but if anyone else has any idea's I would really like to get this thing running!
