ok i have a LTZ400, Im in the military so my bike sits for weeks on end before i can ride it. this time it sat for 5 weeks, was started my my parents while i was in germany, came home and now it wont fire. i checked the spark plug and cleaned it off, im getting spark, i checked the fuel line to the carb and theres fuel passing into it. i opened the carb cleaned the jets and still no fire. we put carb cleaner in to see if it would fire and it fires on carb cleaner but not on fuel. is there something else im missing with the bike that would help or make it fire?

 

i had a z400 that set for awhile and wouldnt fire when i finally got around to it. it had an atermarket cdi, i wasnt sure exactly how to test it but i was getting continuity to ground from the wire that goes from the cdi to the coil..... so im pretty sure the cdi was shot. sold it before it was fixed.....so cdi is something you may wanna check
