Default 2004 Suzuki Eiger

I have been riding the trails with my son using a Yamaha raptor, well after our last outing i almost lost my kidneys. So i looked at a 2004 Suzuki Eieger that a guy from work has, he is asking $1800 for it and it is clean with 1200 miles on it. I have been reading and searching but i haven’t really seen any reviews on the machine. Just wondering if anyone can chime in on there experience with the Eiger.

I am not sure what size raptor you are coming off of, but I would imagine you will be severely disappointed with the Eiger's power. It will get you where you want to go and will be a reliable machine, but the 400 class of utility quads aren't real fast. I had an 08 king quad 400 and it was fine when I was riding with all other 400s but when my buddies started upgrading I quickly realized how slow it was!

I only have a 350 Raptor but my son will ride that, i just need something that will get through mud, has 4 wheel drive and is somewhat comfortable to ride.

Reliability is the biggest factor. I am sure that the Eiger is not going to compete with a Grizzly 700 but im hoping that with the installed winch that i will be able to pull jr. out when he gets stuck as well as myself.

The Eiger is a great, mid-sized ATV. THey are not the fastest, but it is a great, reliable all-around machine. $1800 seems like a good price, assuming 4x4, and not in bad condition.
