Hi I have a Suzuki z400 that runs fine when on reserve. When I turn the gas on it bogs when I give it a little throttle and dies. I turned the gas back on reserve and tried starting it but as soon as I turned the choke off it died. I am thinking my carb needs to be cleaned but I am not exactly sure. Please let me know what could be wrong. Thank You

What you have wrong is the fuel valve not the carb. On a z400 when the engine is running it creates a vacuum which opens your fuel valve. Number one problem with z400s are this valve goes out, put it on prime and it will run. The fix is to replace the fuel valve with one from a raptor which will just be on, off, and reserve and plug the vacuum line. Otherwise replace with a z400 valve and buy a spare because they don't last long.
