My 250 Yamaha Moto4 was very stiff and notchy to shift with boots on. I switch the oil from conventional to full synthetic. After that it always shifted smooth even with sandals on.

Beats me why,but it did the trick.

I am planning to change the oil today anyway, so I will use full synthetic, I will repost with results. Thank you TLC for your help.

Just make sure you use a motorcycle grade Snythetic made for wet clutches. Amsoil is a good one of many.

It should state if its for wet clutches right on the lable.

Also check your idle rpm, it should be set to a low rpm at idle for ease of shifting.
