Default High idol on 2 stroke

Hi, I have a 1996 125rm Suzuki 2 stroke. Finally got it running after a few years and cleaned it up and replace some parts. The only problem is that when I'm really low on gas I noticed the bike wants to idol extremely high. Is this normal for a 2 stroke? Please feel free to Email me back at swank96@gmail.com

Needs more gas haha, i had a two stroke that did the same thing and jetting fixed it. Also did you mess with idle screw at all? They can get out of adjustment.

This is actually common across all motors. If they don't get enough gas the resulting lean condition causes a high idle. 2 strokes are more susceptible to the condition since they suck new fuel in every stroke. If it ONLY does it when your tank is about bone dry then I doubt there is an issue. I wouldn't let it run at that high idle routinely though.
