Default Max. Tire Size for Late 80's Early 90's Quadrunner 250F 4x4

I'm going to be rescuing my father's old LT250F to use as a work / woods quad. The tires, he tells me, are kind of worn and maybe in need of replacement.

Stock size is 22 x 8-10 front and 25 x 12-10 rear. What's the max. oversize you would suggest for this while still making it useable. I'd like to gain some ground clearance as I'm used to my 06 sporstman which has plenty of that.

Suggestions welcome

I had a 1987 Yamaha 250 Moto4 2wd with bald front 22" tires but nice rear 24" Mud Witch" with a aggressive tall lug and I was amazed where it could go.

12" wide is wide stay with 10" or 11" max with a 250cc.

But 25" may of worked as well.

If its a 2wd don't waste your money on the fronts , as long as they hold air they are doing there job.

It's a 4x4 with the three speed sub trans (Hi, Lo, Super Lo). 12" wide on the rear is stock. It's going to be hauling about 1/3 cord of wood at a time on a wheeled wood cart, so traction is going to be important, particularly in snow.
