This past weekend I bought an Lt230 quadsport for my son.I was just wondering if anyone knows why the shifter is so far away from the pegs I wear a size 13 boot and I have a hard time reaching the foot shifter my son wears size nines and its almost impossible for him to shift.I looked at several of these quads before we bought this one and they were all the same way.Does suzuki sell a shorter shifter or should I take it and have another peg welded on.any help would be much appreciated.

WELL THAT IS A COMPLAINT I HAVE NEVER HEARD BEFORE AND I KNOW I FEW GUYS THAT HAVE THEM. ANYWAYS YOU WOULD BE WELL AHEAD OF THE GAME TO JUST REMOVE IT AND HAVE IT CUT AND WELDED TO SUIT YOUR SON'S FOOT. THEN YOU CAN HAVE IT POWDERCOATED IF YOU WANT TO TRICK IT OUT FOR JUST A FEW BUCKS. AS FOR A DIFFERENT SHIFTER I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF ONE. I HAVE CUT AND LENGHTED A FEW WARRIOR SHIFTERS AND THEY WORK GREAT SO THE CUT AND RE WELD WOULD DO THE TRICK.

Spooge your shifter has to be an aftermarket one. The linkage was probably trashed. You should be thankful that its long instead of loose like mine. The only thing to do is probably cut it in half and have it rewelded.
