Yes Sir I know but i have the book in front of me now and there is no listing for a fuel pump. It does not show or state how the vacuum is created from the carb. There is a coasting enrichment valve on the carb (item 14) but no fuel pump.

^^^^^What were you talking about here? I may have misunderstood you.... Or you have a vacuum operated petcock/fuel valve and its faulty...leaking. And good on ya for having a repair manual....!

Yes, the fuel valve is vacuum operated. Would you recommend replacing it? It has been suspect to me for some time but appears ok and is rather pricey. Thanks for your input.

Crap, in my previous post i meant the vacuum line runs from the carb to the fuel valve not fuel line.

In another post of yours, I understood you to say that "you found fuel in the vacuum line" that supplys the vacuum for the fuel valve. This would be a direct indication that the vacuum operated fuel valve has failed and requires replacement.

Yes, that is correct. I will get a new fuel valve on order. I think i'm going to replace the coasting enrichment valve as well. It didn't look that great to me and was not a part included in the rebuild kit. Thanks again for your input.

I use partzilla often for OEM parts, but you may find a deal on an aftermarket....tho I don't use aftermarket parts for this type of issue. Get back with us and let us ( and anyone that might google ) know if your fuel problem is 100% resolved. And your welcome for the input.

Will do and I was thinking...........Can I test the valve by pulling off the vacuum line and putting the valve to prime? This way it would still be getting fuel to the carb through the fuel line and it would prevent fuel from entering the vacuum line from the valve. Just a thought.
