2007 Suzuki Eiger 400 CVT Tranny issues
#1
New to this particular forum and Suzuki's. I've searched high and low on the interwebs and haven't found very much on the issue I'm having hoping some experts might be able lend some friendly advice. Out of 10ish atv's I've owned only one was autonmatic and I am somewhat out of my element when it comes to this CVT system.
Backstory:
I recently bought a 2007 Eiger 2x4 auto. Not running, was told it was diagnosed with a bent valve and hasn't ran in over a year(was not the case), but cleaned the carb bypassed the vacuum petcock, changed the oil, de-flooded(if that's a real word) the cylinder and bam running like a top.
Issue:
IT IS SLOW. Shifts fine in and out of L-H-N-R, and rev's out at whopping 15-20ish MPH. I have heard a little bit of rattle coming from the case but it is intermittent. Is this a common problem with these ATV's? I've read all over about the woes of the tranny not going into gear initially but not much on this. I have maybe 45 minutes of ride time on it hoping it was going to work itself out from sitting so long but not luck. Thank you in advance for any advice!

thanks for the reply man! probably should have done more research on cvt's and cracked open the case before asking that, but busted it open to find a whole lot of dirt and rust. cleaned it up and it's riding good.

Had a similar problem once with a Grizzly. Somehow, a bunch of crap got into the clutch weights and made it feel really sluggish. We took them all out, cleaned it all up and put it back together and it ran great after that.
