I have a new to me 1998 Suzuki LT F500F Quadrunner 4x4. It has under 1,000 miles and hasn't been totally hammered on it's entire life. I think it sat for a couple of years with little to no use. After getting it running fairly decent and riding around for 10 minutes it died in 3rd gear. It will go all the way down to 1st gear but will not go into neutral. No amount of rocking or shaking will free it up to go in neutral.


Any ideas what is going on here?

 

Fixed it! Took a BFH and hit that SOB hard as I could half dozen times and it popped right out. Guess my next mission will be to find a mount for my hammer so I'll always have it in case it happens again.
