I found and bought a 86 lt250r. It has a fmf pipe, new piston. a couple of ?s . did they come with a rear shock that has a remote res shock? is it easy to change a clutch? and does anyone make a chilton man. for it? did thay all come with flatslide carbs? it needs a little work but very good condition. cant wait to ge all fixed and go to badlands IN.

Yes they did come with a resy on the rear shock. Yes they do Make a Clymer Manual. And yes they did come with a Flat slide carb. How much did u pick up your LT for? If I were you I would keep a close eye on the front upper shock mounts and the swing arm for crackin. If I were you, I would strip the frame and Gusset it right now. Just to take precautionary steps.

i had to change the clutch on mine. it was kind of hard but not too bad. you gotta pull the case off the side then hold the brake when your trying to get the big nut off and well if you ever need to do it just make sure if yoru putting your old plates back on that u put them back in the exact same order they came out.

I got a pretty good price 1300.00. It has new plastic (race) in great shape. it already has gussets on and newly painted. where can I find a stock air box it has a kn clamp on I want the stock box for splashing thru water or is clamp on ok for this? where can I get the rear shock rebuilt? who makes this shock?

Thats not to bad of a price for a Lt in good condition. I would have tried to avoid the 85-86 models, but there great once you get to motor inline. About the airbox, I would just keep searchin Ebay for it, there on there quite often, the nice thing is that you can use a 85-90 air box. One of the few parts that are compatible between the years. About the ease of the clutch change, its cake.

You're from Wauconda eh. I lived in Lake Barrington for 11 years. Use to have tons of places to ride there but it's all been developed now. IL really sucks when it comes to riding areas. When I last moved, they were supposed to start building some public parks from the gas taxes offroaders spent on their vehicles. Congrats on getting a Quadracer.

AS FOR YOUR CLUTCH THEY ARE EASY. GET A CLYMER OR FACTORY MANUAL TO HELP YOU MAINTAIN EVERYTHING. AS FOR THAT BIG NUT ON THE CLUTCH BASKET. YOU CAN GET IT OFF EASILY WITH AND IMPACT WRENCH. (DO NOT REINSTALL WITH AN INPACT WRENCH THOUGH!!!!!!) I RECOMMEND REPLACING ALL THE PLATES SINCE YOU DON'T KNOW HOW LONG THEY HAVE BEEN IN SERVICE. PICK UP A COPY OF DIRT WHEELS AND YOU WILL FIND MANY PLACES THAT REBUILD SHOCKS. I RECOMMEND WORKS BECAUSE THEY WILL REBUILD IT FOR YOUR WIEGHT AND RIDING STYLE. (WHEN YOU GIVE THEM YOU WIEGHT ADD FOR YOUR GEAR ABOUT 10 -12 POUNDS. OH BY THE WAY INSPECT THE CLUTCH BASKET WHEN YOU HAVE IT APART, MAKE SURE IT IS NOT CHEWED UP WHERE THE FIBER PLATES TABS SLIDE.
