I might have asked this question before a couple of years ago but if I did I can't remember it and I can't find it.
I have an '87 230s and an '89 250s. Does the 250 throw the chain like the 230 is known to do? I don't have many hours on the 250 - like 5 hours in 5 years - and I am getting nervous.
If the chain and sprocket are in good condition just make sure it is tightened properly and you should be fine.
Yes it does through the chains. When I bought mine the case was broken.
Got the '89 250S back on the trail. Had the carb rebuilt, replaced the bearings all the way around, replaced the fuel petcock, Been out twice at a couple of ATV parks in the area. So good to ride again. Have decided to leave this stock for the time being.
Question - have been redoing the '87 230 for about 120 years. About 2/3's done. Will mod this one somewhat. Riding the 250 again reminded me how much better that ride is. Can I put the shocks from a 250S on the 230S? Are there any other shock set ups you guys like for the 230? I will buy new ones from Works or somebody but curious if there were any options.
