I've had up to 47 on the speedo, and it was still gaining speed. I think it will probably do close to 50, but it'll take a LONG time to get there.

I've also had mine up to 45 on a dirt road in about a 1/4 mile stretch. It got there in decent time but it seemed like it didn't have to much more. I also got the same speed at the beach one time on the hard packed sand.

Either way, faster than I want to go on ANY quad.

Mine will do 45 with ease, and hold it on a fair grade. 50 isn't too hard to get if the road is flat. I'd bet 52-55 on asphalt, and after broken in.

Then again, mine has had some "coaxing"

Go back to Polaris and tell 'em they wrecked your mind. You want a refund, due to brain damage. :0)
Bill's always messin' with folks, for fun...
I installed a SuperTrapp on my KQ and ran a trail that was flat, hard sand. GPS read 54 MPH. Then I installed the jet kit and I haven't gone a tenth of a mile over 45. But man, does she put out the torque. Not saying the kit slowed me down. But the engine has much more power at the low range. Of course, Bill, will say, "Oh, any Queenie can do what yours does"... And he's right. All you gotta do is tune it...

Chuck,
you mean the GPS read 54 with the performance pipe and than when you re-jetted,the KQ slowed down?Give it to us straight so we understand. If this is what happened, you better be doing something differant with the jet kit dont you think?

What size main jet comes stock? What have you got in it now?

45-47 mph on long hard flat road. Sometimes faster in 4th gear than 5th. King Quads have a rev-limiter. The engine will sputter slightly when the rpms bump up against the rev limit.
