Back in 1986, my dad bought our first 4-wheeler. It was a new '86 LT-250, which had huge front & rear racks, chain drive, front suspension, & NO rear suspension. Anyhow, I remember it as being really powerful, pretty fast, and a great wheelie machine-the front end would come up really easy in 1st or 2nd, and the trailer hitch acted as a wheelie bar so you never had to worry about standing it up too far. Its only downfall was the fact it had no rear suspenders, so you were beat to death everytime you rode hard or rode long distances. We only had it for a couple years & then got rid of it in favor of an LT-4WD. Did anyone out there have (or still has) one of these?? I don't really ever remember seeing any out on the trails, and now they're quite old. I believe the LT-300 replaced them in '87.

I've rode them before. Pretty rough ride, but good for hunting.

That shaft 250 came way after that. I also have a LT 300- 1987 like the one W.A. is tlking about. They are really easy to wheelie, and to fip over going up hills!

They have those huge rear tires, and small front ones. they look pretty funny. I guess they have great low end power, but the lack of rear suspension makes it a rough ride. They also have a huge rear rack.

It must be worn out, they have tons of power!! Put in some new rings, you'll see.

Nope its the clutch. Its shot. I've had that thing up to 51mph and it was still gaining. I think it could out run my old quadsport. Its got a pretty strong engine for such a heay frame.
