To make it (LT500) last and run well: Run it rich (jetting),keep the air filter clean, and use a good premix at at least 40:1. Email me your address and I'll mail you an article on how to jet it. Air Filter - purchase a Uni Filter. This is a two stage filter. Keep it celan and oiled. In most cases, I only need to clean and oil the outer filter. I'm still on my stock (original) bore after riding at Glamis every year since 1987 on one of my 1987 500's. Other than the items for the engine above, proper chain adjustments and keeping it clean will assist in have the other parts endure.
