I have been told that a 86-88 CR500 motor will bolt directly into a 87 - 92 quadracer 250 frame, can anyone verify this for me, or let me know whats involved

no it will bolt into a honda. but without the counterbalancer in the cr motor you will rattle apart. and break motor mounts mounts.

Exotic, are you saying that a CR500 motor will drop right in a the honda 250 quad frame? If that were so, I'd think you would see alot more of these conversions.
In any case, that 250 frame would definately have to be beafed up considerably. Even if you were putting a counterbalanced 500 in like the LT motor, there is still much more vibration and horsepower than that frame was made for. You could use rubber dampers at every bolting point on that mutated quad and still the VVVIIIBBBRRRAAATTTIIIOOONNN would make it an uncomfortable ride.

The title states you want to put a cr500 motor in a quadracer frame. Please explain. Also you best bet is to buy an aftermaket frame for this conversion. I would never attempt to do this conversion because ofall the horror stories i heard from cracked frame and motor mounts.

Wouldn't it be a lot easier to just go out and buy a LT500R??????..... And no a CR500 motor will not fit in a LT250R chassis...I don't know where people come up with some of this stuff.

It is totally possible to do the swap but like said before without a counterbalancer it wouldn't be woth it IMO. I'd just find a lt500r motor and swap that in, or just buy a Zilla.

It bolts up w/ a new head stay, motor mounts, and a new down tube. It will vibrate all your parts to peices and you will hate it, until you can find somebody to buy it from you.
My best friend has this exact beast(LT250R/CR500), and I have helped him with lot of the work, it sucks. But fast.
