O-ring a quadracer head?
#1
I want to o-ring my '90 head. Who does this? Where can I get the o-rings for it? Anything I sould be aware of? Does it help alot with cooling? I live in south west Michigan if that helps.
Also, I got a new jug gasket, there is 2 water inlet holes on the jug by the power valve, but only one is punched out in the gasket. Do you know why? Should I cut it open?
Thanks alot, Derek

My 1987 Quadracer 500 has an o-ringed head. I just took the cylinder and head to a machine shop and told them what I wanted. They even had the o-rings. This setup has been working well for me for over two years now.
Why do you want to oring yours? I had a reason to do mine. Mine blew head gaskets frequently (no matter how often I checked the head torque) and this seemed like a logical solution. I don't think that my cooling performance has changed at all. Do what you want, but I think you are blowing money. Save your money and buy a 1990 LT500 instead.
