I see a lot of people have removed their parking brake but for what reason I dont understand. So to those of you that have removed your parking brake why did you do it and does it give any benefits? Thanks in advance.

Some do it for different reasons.

Some do it for weight savings. It's not much, but every bit counts.

Some do it for a cleaner appearance.

Some do it because the aftermarket clutch perches do not have a provision for the cable.

And some do it for ALL the reasons above.

I removed the one on the Zilla, just because it didn't work, and probably never would've. I removed the one on the 99 400EX , because after that first year it stopped working, and I haven't a clue why. That and the fact that applying it was like trying to solve the rubics cube, at least it was for the 400EX.

I removed it because I never use them, shave some weight, went to an aluminum clutch perch without a connector, and the cable adds to the clutter of cables going to the handlebars.

As for block off plates, I believe they are universal and most aftermarket shops sell them. A lot of them are engraved like Nacs.
