Help on an LT185
#1
Anyone~
My son has a 1984 LT185 Quadrunner. I understand that they used to make a suspension kit for these machines, however, due to the age, I can't find one. Does anyone have =any= ideas on where to find a suspension kit, used even, or have the schematics of what the suspension kit consisted of so that I can have one made?
Any help on this would be supremely appreciated.

Are you sure that you have an LT185 or is it an LT125? The LT185 had front suspension but none in the rear. The LT125 didn't have any suspension at all.
The company that you are talking about is Astro Conversions. They made the rear susp. kits and 3-to-4 kits. They mostly dealt with Hondas and Yamhas. Not sure about the Suzukis. In fact I don't even know if they are still around anymore. It has been years since I saw an ad from them. I've got one here from a magazine in 1991. They are [or were] located in El Cajun, CA [619] 448-8802.

Icav,
I've been to ebay and haven't found it...but will keep looking.
Knowsalot~Thanks for your input. It is an LT185, and yes, it does have a front suspension, but no rear suspension. I don't remember who I heard it from, but, remember being told that there used to be (rear) suspension kits for the LT185 as an aftermarket item.
If you turn anything up, I sure would appreciate it.
Thanks again,

The kit you remember was made by PK Racing and was featured in the July 1985 issue of Dirt Wheels. The kit offered 5" of travel, bolted into the stock frame and you had to remove your airbox. The kit retailed for $329 in '85. Their address was:
PK Racing Products
640 N. Grand Ave
Covina, CA 91724
(818) 966-1736
The manufacturer Knowsalot is talking about specialized in converting three wheelers into four wheelers with a weld on front end kit.

Knowsalot~
I tried the number and yes, they used to make them..I was told:
"Yes we used to, no we don't anymore, no we don't have any parts for it, no we have no idea how we used to do it~sorry" I didn't even get a word in edgewise.
I also tried the number rockrider gave, and it's been disconnected. *sigh* If anyone comes across even a picture of this thing or schematics or even any ideas on how it was done, I would sure appreciate it.
