I'm looking for a new air filter for my zilla. Any recommendations?
I read were Duncan says the stock air filter is junk and I agree with them.

Awhile back I posted something about what's the best air filter to use over there in the Polaris forum, and the majority said to use a UNI filter for dusty conditions, or a K&N for, well, non-dusty conditions.....the 2 layers of the UNI filter trap smaller particles out better, that's all.....

Yeah, the stock setup is for $hit. I got the Duncan kit for mine, havent put it on yet, but I have a friend with one on his 89 that looks like a pretty good setup, as far as a Uni trapping more dust than a K@N, well, I really dont know, I have run both brands numerous times in every condtion imaginable and neither has caused me any engine damage. So you probably cant go wrong with either. The Duncan kit consist of an adaptor that allows you to run a K@N from a 250R, and the whole setup seals a lot better than just putting a K@N in your Zilla.

Never run a bare K&N in any type of wet condition, the cotton assorbs water like a sponge. With an outerwear its a whole different story. K&N's are the best filter you can get for trapping the smallest particles without hurting airflow. The plastic outerwear will make water bead up and run off. Foam filters are excellant for wet conditions, the water will bead up and run right off them too, they can suck a little dust though. I would recomend either a K&N and outerwear or a UNI, whatever you get, get the proper oil straight from UNI or K&N and follow the intructions, they are both top quality.

I ride in North Eastern Pa. There is enough local trails here to go anywhere. The trails that I know are decent and probably cover a 40 mile radius. A local snowmobile club built and maintains most of the trails but quads are welcomed. I love to drag race more than anything though. I race at Tioga Park in NY but I am looking for other dirt drags, u know of any??

Hey FAST453EX, how much is your Zilla bored? Mines currently at .060 over, but I'm not sure what the displacement is......Do you have any problems w/ overheating or anything? I'm thinkin about re-sleeving mine for stock bore, but haven't really decided yet....thanks...

I now have a 90 zilla that is only .060 over. My old 87 had a diff sleeve but i think it was .160 bigger bore than stock. On a stock sleeve you can go to .140 over without overheating or vibration or anything, I know because I have done it. My 90 is soon to get an LA 550 cc Sleeve.
