I was thinkin the same thing. I want to try paddle tires for the soft, powdery snow, but have yet decided if I want them or not. Last year my friends and I studded our stock tires and got a round pretty good, 'cept in the deep stuff. I was figuring on paddles for the frozen lakes once they get covered in snow, but ice spots and packed trails would probably wear them down rather quick-like.....so I dunno, you try it first then tell me how good it works.......Latah

Ive tried sand tires in the snow where I live, and they work prety well. Its good for soft powdery snow, put once you get into hard pack, or ice it starts to eat up the tires. And depending what you like to do in the snow, traction is another draw back. donuts are a little harder to do. : )

I too considered the same set-up...

Don't ya think some aggressive mud tires would work better all around, though?..

The Rocky Mountain ATV catalog had some new style paddle tires that are made to be used in mud and snow. I've been considering buying a pair but I'm still undecided. I can't remember who makes them, GBC?

The tires your thinking of are Paddle Masters (GBC). I talked to the guys at Rocky Mountain about em and they are made for mud & snow use. I know they look pretty tough...

I like my spider trac for all around riding. Good in the sand, they rock in the mud, and they keep me going in the snow
