Well I went riding today and my chain came apart and broke a nice piece off of my side case. Does anyone have or know of anywhere I can get a
set? My local shop told me I had to find a pair, both sides to work. I knew I had a real problem when all of the oil came pouring out. HELP!!!!!!!!

Go to mrdune.com He got his cases welded. Did the chain come off the sprocket or did the chain break?

Go to bikebandit.com and in the pull downs select OEM parts, year, Suzuki, then LT500R, and in the schematics look for what ya need, and if its there you can check to see if Suzuki still has them and the price........Latah......

I snapped the master link and broke off 2 pieces under the shift rod, bent the rod good too. I don't think I can get it welded I'll know better when I get the motor out tommorow.

Hey Knucklehead !!! I was with you when your zilla took a crap. I really fely bad for ya. That Paul Turner engine has too much torque for the cheap chain. Unload it while you can. We're going back up to B'Burg on saturday. Sure wish you were there. We'll Be thinkin' of ya. Later

Just for a bit of advice.....this is wat they sell case savers for!! For any suzuki owner who doesnt have a chain guard on there quad, you will notice two holes, one in front of the front sprocket and one above. Use these and create a case saver. I used a small piece of steel, grinded it into an arc, drilled two holes, painted it black and it looks great! it also stops the chain from 'doubling up' which is usually how it breaks the cases. I figured that id like the chain to destroy a small peice of steel instead of my side case. I feel real bad for ya Chapy. Hope you get back on it soon matey

Hey Aussie, not to be a smart *** but I don't think the chain guard would have saved my beast. The chain kinked between the sprocket and the shifter, then it put pressure on the shift rod bending it and then blowing 2 pieces of the bottom of the case out.

As for you guard dog I just don't think I can part with my ZILLA!
It's a thing about having *****! You just wouldn't understand. LOL

Hey no offence taken chapy. But if you design your case saver so it runs very close to the chain when its rounding the sprocket, it doesnt allow the chain to kink over and run over itself. if the chain breaks the drive sprocket will continue to drag the chain around. wat happens is the chain isnt pulled out the other side cause its not connected to the rear sprocket. this is when the chain 'doubles up' on itself cause its not been pulled out the other side. If your have a close case saver the case saver holds the chain against the front sprocket and therefore the chain is pushed away from the engine after its past the front sprocket. Now bare in mind that thats the 'theory' behind it as i see it. thats what i designed my saver for. Luckily i have no actual experience with this so its untested anyone else had this happen to them?

I have the nads as proven before, I just don't have the machine to keep up with me.As for aussie boy, I think he's right. If you're going to keep the beast, you should do that. Or atleast by a better chain next time. I sure wish you were going to B'Burg with us on saturday !!!!

Free advice to all. If your gonna play you gotta pay. Don't buy cheap parts as I did. If I bought a top line chain instead of an affordable one I would be ridin today.
