My Buddy is thinking of purchasing the Eiger. He is leaning toward the Eiger over the Rancher 4X. Can anyone give me some feedback on their likes and dislikes about it. And should he reconsider the Rancher.

Thanks Ryan

P.S. I own a 01 Rancher 4X so I am very bias to the Hondas. As you can relate, or mabey not. Oh Yeah, This is a Suzuki forum.

ATV Action or Dirt Wheels did a shoot out between the two (2x4 versions) and the Eiger came out on top. For what it's worth everything I've read about the Eiger and AC375 has been positive. Just so you know I ride an AC 250 4x4 so there no brand loyalty. Hope you Suz guys don't mind me butting in. Your buddy has a tough choice.

Dirtwheels did a pretty convincing shootout between the two last month. I was just in the market for that size 4x4. For some reason, I just didn't like the Rancher - maybe it's the orange. For whatever reason the Eiger just felt better. As far as I can see the only advantage the Rancher has over the Eiger is it's trick front dif. Other than that the Eiger beats it hands down - even in price. My choices were the Rancher, Eiger or taking a chance on the new Kawi 360. After comparing the Honda and the Suzuki it came down to the Suz or Kawi.

Bought an Eiger over the weekend. I only have 7.5 miles on it so I can't give any trail comments until after this weekend. I've run it in the yard, in the woods and took it through the creek up to the bottom of the front rack. So far, so good. It's a fun bike to ride and so far I've had to baby it for break-in.

Beecon,
I hope you know that the Rancher comes in three colors. Not that it matters now. And as far as hands down I doubt it. They were a very close match. Well thank God you didnt buy the Kawasaki.

I just bought an eiger 4x4 5 speed manuel. I really like it so far. Only have 15 miles on it though. I am a little concerned that the shifter operates a little harder than I think it should. See "Eiger shifter problem" topic and post a message if you have any advice.

Eigerguy,
I'm experiencing the same shifting symptons on my Vinson and I have about 250 mi. on it. I've found that if you rock it a little while trying to shift, it helps.
