Is Arctic Cat made in USA? I wonder who is more American, AC or Polaris... Where is AC build, where is Polaris built?

Polaris = Fuji
AC = Suzuki

or

Polaris = "Made In USA"
AC = "Jap Crap"

It all sounds hipocratic...

Just my personal opinion (and I'll probably get flamed for this one), but in my experience, American cars are crap. As soon as an American car company makes a quality vehicle (that isn't hideous), I'll consider buying it. Until then, my commuter will continue to be a Honda (Decent styling, reliable, long lasting, kinda quick, good gas mileage, awesome re-sale value. How many American cars can boast that?). My last couple American cars died at 100,000 miles. It's almost like their computers are programmed to die when the odometer hits 100,000.

The only American cars I value were built in the 60's. They had STYLE, and style goes a long way with me, as long as it's not my commuter (68 Mustang, 289 ).

Back on the subject of where they are made. If all of them are made in the good old USA then why do only the 4 foriegn makers have to abide by the 600 lbs law if it isn't a shipping thing over the seas.
Why can Polara$$ and the Bomb be allowed to produce quads 740 lbs+++.
What is up with that?

Whenever I buy something I ALWAYS try not to buy something that says MADE IN CHINA.- We're financing the buildup of the next world nuclear power. One of these days they will try to take Taiwan back, and we might try to stop them. I dread the day because I know we helped build there armament up buying the crap they make.

DaveC makes an excellent point. As a former Marine and father of two boys who may be called on to defend us in the future, I also dread the day we have to take on the Chi-coms. It's very hard to totally eleminate all "Made In China" purchaces, but we can all bycott their products whenever possoble.

I don't know much about freight regulations, but the 600lb. "rule" is actually part of an agreement made by the Big 4 in the late-80's that was also part of the consent decree. Not sure if Polaris was involved or not but Bombardier and others were not because they did not make quads back then.

The decree expired a few years ago and so far, there have been no revisions to it. Although their are many eco-crazy and extremist groups pushing for a continuation with even stricter rules.

These manufacturers can't seem to agree with anything. They all "supposedly" agreed to release all their new model intros. in September of every year, but as we all know...they pop up with surprises all the time. The automotive market should be a good example to the quad makers that releasing information and their line ups at the same time assures that not only a company would have an advantage over the other, but it would also not kill the sales of their own machines mid-year.

I don't know of any Rubicons being sold since Honda has the Rincon coming this summer.

Artic cat builds the chassis in minnesota, so the chassis is built in usa. I know the shocks are made in canada. I put shims on my springs last week, the stamping on the shocks said made in canada.

The big sticker on the back plastic on my AC says made in the usa. The chassis has to be made in the u.s. cause it weighs so much but it is built with slightly bigger tubing, and seems like theres more of it on my cat than other atv's. If you pull a cat up beside another atv you can surely see this.

I know suzuki owns a small part of artic cat also, something to do with the r&d department. I also heard that articcat/suzuki/kawasaki are kinda all in this same mix with the r&d. I think AC uses some kawasaki engines in there smowmobiles, so ive heard, but the chassis are also built in the U.S..
