Thanks for the input. I have found an 02 Vinson out the door for 5900. That is the best price I have found after searching quite a bit, and that includes 400.00 in free accessories (like a winch or new bumpers). Gas mileage seems pretty good as well.

You guys are getting taken to the cleaners. That price is robbery. I was quated 8100.00 for the Vision w/winch by two dealers. The highest price was 8500.00. I bought the 650 Kawi cheaper that your lowest price on the Vision. It would be worth your while to phone a few places in SouthWestern Ontario and take a drive and pick it up. Your getting screwed, but than again that seems to be the way most dealers treat their customers in the land of the devalued peso. The 650 is a little thirsty on fuel but then again your feeding two down draft carbs, that respond instantly to the need for speed. Overall the 650 is not that bad on fuel, as long as your not leaning on the throttle. Trail riding it is good on fuel, it's when you get that V twin working that it likes to drink.

 

jett, I think you'll find that your price for the Vinson was very close to the price in New Brunswick, and a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than the price quoted in Sudbury. Not much difference for one region to the next.
I'm all about saving a buck where ever I can, but I wouldn't drive out of town to buy a quad for the sake of a few dollars. Service is more important to me, and you can't expect good service from your local dealer if you drive 4 hours to save a couple of hundred dollars.

 

The money is better in my pocket than that of a local dealer that is over inflating the price. That is true about paying for good service, but you can also pay more up front hoping to get good service and recieve poor service. I've been there done that. The warranty work is honoured at any Zuk dealer. Each their own. Watch your nickels and dimes and your dollars will take care of themselves.

 

I think you'll find it's hard to get good local service if you don't have a local dealer.

Why would I drive 10 + hours to save a few hundred buck when its going to cost that much in fuel to go and get an atv that my dealer will not want to service. Another thing to keep in mind is that our tax rate is higher down here @ 15%. So if I do the math $9400.00-15%=$7990.00 atv. Which means $1410.00 in tax's alone.

Personally I could not give a rats *** if you ever bought a atv. I was giving you a tip, a suggestion, a way to save a few bucks.

 

I believe that is the entire point here. I was posting to get input about buying a quad. I appreciate all the advice. I am on a budget, so driving a bit to save a few hundred dollars is well worth it for me. It does have its trade offs though. Hopefully, the quad I buy will only need regular servicing and no major repairs.
