lt250r with 500 motor
#1
i am going to look at an lt250 with an lt 500 motor in it soon i was wonderning what the guy had to do to put this motor in like frame modd and can this frame handel the bigger engin,, also would i need to buy a speciel chain of pipe for this if i were to replace it

I think the frame mods should be minimal, but maybe he did a hokey job or something. LT frames are notorious for cracking at the upper shock mounts, so you may want to take it down to the frame and get the frame gusseted. As for a pipe, I think someone mentioned CT made pipes for this specific application, so you can contact them about it if you need to replace the pipe. What year frame and motor are these?

OK, the frame and motor are the newer ones, so thats good. Start another topic about gusseting, you will get more responses. all I know of is by the front shock mounts. how much is he asking for this machine, and what other mods are on it?

The frames crach at the lower rear A-Arm mounts also, mine is a 92, its factory gusseted, and it still broke.
I am having a welder put a gusset between the lower frame rails near the A-Arm mounts and where the lower rails meet the two rails that go up to the radiator.
