I had a 95' Kingquad that would hit 58 mph. Bike was loaded with warn 2000 winch and front and rear storage boxes which all weighted about 100 lbs extra. Rode with a 91' Kingquad that would hit 60 mph with 2 good size adults on it.
You might need to check the throttle limiter screw. Someone may have set the screw in to reduce your speed during breakin.
Happy riding with your bike. Hope this helps.

Maybe the older KQs went that fast, but the new ones don't. One reason that might contribute could be that Suzuki went down in carb size to a 29mm from (I think) a 31mm.
I wish mine went that fast. The Vinson's are only supposed to top out around 58 - 60 mph.
Were you guys going downhill?

No stock KQ can go ANYWHERE near 55mph,much less 58-60 mph.I had a 1986 Quad Runner,it topped out at around 43mph.My bro's 97 KQ would top out at around 48mph.Stock speedo's have been known to be way off before, sounds like someone's GPS is giving incorrect readings to?
