Has anyone replaced the cheesey stock Dunlops on your Eiger?? The Eiger comes with: FRONT: 25 x 8-12 REAR: 25 x 10-12.
I was thinking of going with a more aggressive tire such as the Goodyear Mudrunner.
Will this quad handle (without mods) FRONT: 26 x 10-12 REAR: 26 x 12-12? Should I stay with 25" tires?
I will be using my Eiger for hunting in wet, muddy, snowey conditions as well as using it to plow snow. Your advice/expierience will be MUCH appreciated!
Thanks!!

I got my EIGER I put 103 miles on it. You've got to understand I live in Alaska. In town we have 1-2ft of snow. It was anywhere from 10-35ft where I was riding. lol no shi_ I didn't need low at all. It was all 4x4 high in 3rd to 5th gear.We have more wet lands then i can ride. you call the dunlops cheesey.I put my eiger through more snow and mud and only got 205 miles on it.then you ever will. some people will never learn.

So far I've found the stockers to perform quite well. Well enough that I'm not planning on replacing them until I need to due to wear. I've had the Eiger rack-deep in soupy mud and it has yet to get stuck. Whenever the time comes to replace tires, I'm leaning towards the Goodyear Mud Runner - In part due to the review below and also because they are one of the "run flat" tires.

There was an excellent review of more agressive tires in the March ATV Action. They used the Eiger 5-speed as the test bed for six different mud tires. They stuck with the same 25" tire size. Basically they got three sets of results:

Good in mud, great for trail riding - Goodyear Mud Runner and Kenda Bear Claw.

Better in mud, OK for most trail riding - ITP AT589 M/S and Titan 589 M/T.

Best in mud, not recommended for trail riding - High Lifter Outlaw and Maxxis Mudzilla.

We all know the OEM tires have to be a compromise of tread style and are often thin skinned to save weight. I figure if I get new tires in a year or two and they do outperform the originals that it will be like getting a new ATV without the expense.

I have friends whose machines came with the Dunlops, and consistantly had flats due to punctures, even with thorny branches. Mr HUNTFISHALASKA; granted, you do get more anual snofall than the ~200 inches where I hunt, but if you want to take the chance of a flat because you're to cheap to upgrade your tires, that's your choice.
Thanks much jaybeecon55, that's just the kind of advice I was looking for!

1 we get over 200 inches of snow ++ 300 inches of rain a year here in CORDOVA ALASKA
I have had 5 suzuki now and not 1 flat. They all have had dunlop tires.
we all so have 8 glaciers here. That i ride on or near.
so don't try and blow smoke out your *** about tires and being cheap.
a little ride here is 50 to 100 miles. what is it for you? 5 to 10 miles lol.you put what ever tire you want on your eiger. i don't care either way. you will learn some day or maybe not lol that up to you

Look, maybe I don't live in Alaska, but you also don't live in Michigan's upper peninsula. I don't ride my machine for fun or joy rides, I ride it as transportation to get as far back to inaccessible areas as possible. I ride alone and I am looking for insurance, to get me in and out, hopefully with a buck riding on the back. The last thing I need is a flat tire. So the bottom line is; even if it’s only 5 or 10 miles, if I wanted to walk the distance I wouldn’t have bought the quad.

My Kodiak came with Dunlop's also. I put almost 400 miles on it last Fall while moose hunting heavy bush and swamp. I was very concerned about getting a puncture or tear in the tires. There was lots of dead-fall timber to go over and around. I was actually very surprized that I didn't get a flat. (Thought I was gonna for sure) There wasn't much for rocks, so I don't know how they would hold up on that type of surface. The Dunlops on my quad recommend 3.6 psi inflation. I wonder if the low inflation pressure helps the tire flex more, and possablt reduce the chance of punctures. I had planned to get Mudrunners for the "runflat", and increased traction. Because the Dunlops didn't let me down, I'll keep them on till either they wear out, or they start getting flats. So far the Dunlops have surprized me with their durability..........so far........

or elk you get draw once you cant hunt them in the state ever again.
there are 16 countys in the u;p name 5 that do not have PRISONS in them.
I lived in Leroy mich by cadillac so dont talk shi_ to me about michigan

I just replaced my stock tires on my Vinson with stock size Kenda Bearclaws. The ride is a little rougher and I haven't lost any speed. I feel that the stockers are cheesy too considering you can run over an ant with a woody with those stockers and puncture a tire.

I had Bearclaws mounted on my Vinson before it left the dealership.
I also put slime in all 4 tires. (40 miles from the truck and a flat means a new wheel $$$) Good luck to all
