What's best pipe for my 1992 LT250R ??
#1
I have a stock Quadracer and was wondering which pipe and silencer combination works best. I do both trail and dune riding mostly trail rides. Also where is the best place to buy one?? Also if you mention a brand please include the combination that you used as far as jet size and air filter brand if other than stock.

mine's a '91, i'm currently running a FMF with Turbinecore I silencer. K&N w/ outerwears, stock carb, engine bored .020" over. i run maxima superM at 40:1 with chevron or texaco super(no ethanol in it).
jetting is 30 pilot(stock), 270 main, needle on 2nd position, air screw out 1.75 turns. it's a little lean for the dunes, and i'll switch to a 280 main to ride them next time and see how it goes... i trailride locally, dune ride, and do some racing when i can afford it.
i will be changing pipes eventually, i haven't decided which one yet... i'm leaning toward FTZ in frame style, possibly CT, maybe paul turner... I saw a LRD pipe on a LT and it rubbed on the A-arm... not too impressive, but i have been told that they are 'the best' my question is: do the others rub too?

the pipe pings pretty loud, the pipe metal is thin... my brother has a older FMF that was made with thicker metal and it is much better.
i just changed the silencer from a powercore to a turbinecore, the Db's went down considerably at the tailpipe and i believe it will now pass the oregon dunes sound check(93Db +/- 2db at 20" from tailpipe at 45 degrees to its output, engine at about 1/3 throttle)
