zilla case's and duncan racing
#1
hey im am getting a new quad. its gonna be a zilla. i know a ll about the main bearing problem and i read on duncan racings web site that u can get the case inserts but that is a tempory solution. they recomended to get new factory cases from suz. the new cases would cost me like 680. now the zilla im gonna buy has a cooked motor so i have the case and i was gonna buy hte new cases and possibly a new jug. i was wondering if any one thought that the new cases would be a good investment??? and i was gonna get the duncan racing motor kit. it comes with a ptr pipe and silencer national porting and head mod, reed valve, keihin 38 owk jet kit and a k&n filter all for 1229.00 i was wondering if you all thought this would be a good investment and any ideas on what the power will be like??? and maybe a hp number??

That kit seems to have some of the best parts offered anywhere and assuming they provide an excellent port job, then it may be worth it. I've been contemplating the same kit myself. The only change I would consider is an LRD adjustable pipe which I've heard more compliments on as opposed to the Paul Turner pipe. Duncan obviously doesn't offer the LRD pipe.
As far as the cases go, does anyone know if these heavier cases were on any of the production bikes, or were they only made available after the 1990 model?
Thanks

I have The PTR "national" kit but the quad had it when I bought it so I can't give a comparison from stock to the kit. I will say this my quad has not been beat since I've owned it. I just rebuilt the motor and all of my bearings were good. I recommend any zilla owner build or at least but a case saver. I built one the goes past the shift rod because I broke a chain and it bent the shift rod and broke the side case Luckily I'm going to be able to weld it. I'll know if it works this weekend. I'll let ya know. Oh ya the jug can be resleeved and it saves on the cost of a new one.
