Heres a call out for of you new Z400 owners that "think" your new, awesome quad can hang with a Raptor or DS. I'll be racing anyone of you who want to show up in Phoenix @ 127th ave. & Lower Buckeye rd. @ the sand drags all day in the river bottom May 12,19. I'll also be at the cinders in Flagstaff memorial weekend (how fitting for you guys). Winner to post results

Directions to Phx. sand drags :

Take I-10 to 115 ave. Go south to Lower Buckeye, turn right go west and just past 127th ave you will see river bottom, stay on the hard pack or be prepared to get stuck (even 4x4's) you will see 1/2 mile south of road 200-300 yd GROOMED drag strip with launch ramps.

Directions to cinders in Flagstaff:

Take 89a north of flagstaff to sunset crater, turn right and follow road past crater and make 2nd right (fire road 776) turn right and go 1/2 mile and find a spot to camp. Ask anyone in the area where $100 hill is and they will point you there. This a ATV area with TONS of trails.

Wow! Now I am impressed!! What a man it takes to come in and start some BS wanna race....wanna race my piped and jetted RAPTOR against your STOCK Z400 that's barely broke in. Dude, everyone knows that the Z400 is not going to out drag a Raptor, especially a pipe/jetted Raptor against a stock Z400. Out MX could be another story altogether though. Give it a rest and wait a little 'till these things are out full force.

Some people...

The post is for anyone who wants to see how the z400 will fair. All I hear from the dealers in AZ is the 400 will hang till 5th gear. Bring em down , lets run em and see. There is also 400ex's running. If you want to bring that powerhouse lakota cmon down and we will find a scrambler or vinson for you (both were there yesterday).

I think is what Michael AZ is trying to say is there is a new kid on the block, here is a place to go to don some dragracing and riding. We all know that a stock Z400 isnt going to be competition for a piped Raptor, but it will give them a benchmark of where they are compared to the other High perf 4 strokes that are out there.

So, now you have to attack my machine. We both know the Lakota is not a powerhouse, so why even comment like that. It's people like you that start flames and **** others off. I see your new here, so I can understand. Your like the new kid in class, trying to impress everyone so they will like him. I'm not in it for the same reasons as you. Regardless of what my machine can and can't outrun, I have a helluva lot of fun on it though. I'm excited for the z400 to come out. I could care less if it can outrun a Raptor or DS or a Cann. I like all the 4 wheelers. I guess you need that reassurance in your life that your Raptor is faster than a Z400. I, however, don't need reassurance of anything. I would run a Scram. or a Vinson just to see how it would do, either way, I'll be smiling and talking to the guys on the other machines.

I can respect that Roost, however that is not how it came off to me. Maybe I just took him wrong, or how he said it.

Michael...I'll be at the Cinders Memorial Day weekend and I'll be more than happy to race ya on a flat area somewhere but I'm not going to blow up the Z400 on $100 hill. Maybe once it's broken in a little more I'll go for it. As for Raptors going up it, I was very impressed when a friend couldn't make it up half way with a very modified Banshee setup for desert racing (it was regeared) and then he took his Raptor and made it up no problem. It's all about torque, not speed.

For those who aren't familair with $100 hill, it puts the hills at Glamis to shame, is covered in very loose cinders, and is at over 7000' in elevation. I've seen radiator fluid boiling in overflows after going up the hill. I have some pics at http://www.quadracer.com/photos/trips/cinders5_01/

Great ! It should be fun ! look forward to meeting you Guido39.

Stebob: I plead guilty to stirring the pot for calling the z400 out, its all meant to be good natured. You took offense to me calling out the Lakota, I guess I could have reworded it differently so it didn't offend you but the point was to tell everyone about a place in phoenix where we can ride against others and see how we fared. The z400 is new and it would give everyone a chance to see one up close. Will it over heat ? What the rev limiter ?? Tippy ? (like my raptor) What about gearing ?? I got the hole shot a few races yesterday and beat some nice bikes. You never know that's what makes it fun. The powerhouse comment was out of line, I got fired up by what I felt wasn't a thread meant for you (but for z400 riders)and you replied anyway. The amount of posts I have or you have prove nothing, so any title a user may have or amount of posts means nothing, its quality. Your post are usually good posts and never hateful. I don't mean for any of mine to come across wrong, I'm just competitive, hell I'd race and roost my own mom if she should would climb on a quad Here’s a olive branch and I hope you accept my apology if I offended you.

I have a DS too. I can't wait to race a new Z just to see how fast they are. I think it is an awesome quad & at the price of a 400EX may be the best bang for the buck in sport quads. Good to see 'Zuki back & it looks like they have a winner. Maybe a trade -in of the EX is in order ???

After you get done racing in a straight line, please take some time to whip through some trails, go off some jumps, and climb some serious technical hills (hills that require 1st/2nd gear and weaving in and out of trees). If I were looking for some serious power for racing in the dunes, I would be looking at a DS650, a Banshee, or another Raptor. Oh yea, test this thing on an MX track. I want to know if this thing is indeed better than the 400ex. I have two 400exs that are either getting serious upgrades or sold. Girlfriend wants my Raptor but I am hoping the z400 is the ticket. I don't mind her on the Raptor for its engine because she can handle it fine. I am more worried about the extra weight hitting her in a crash.
