I hear 8000-8500 for Z400, I think raptor is at 9000 and not sure bout the 400ex but I think it is fairly low....

uh i dont know if i rember right but i am pretty sure the rev on an ex was somewhere in the 9,000 to 9,500 range. i also believe this cause if you buy a rev box it is increased by like a 1,000 rpm to 10,500 or 10,000. i have money down on the z ( i used to have an ex) and i also wondered why such a low rev limit or maybee it dont make much power after 8,000 rpm. but i have heard of the bike version of this moter (modded) revving in to the 11k rangee easilly.

The suzuki guy in the tuesday chat(riva) last week said that the max power is at 8000rpm and the rev limiter is at 9000.

i just can't wait for the mods to start trickin' out. i'm a bit torn though on what exhaust i should get. should i wait for FMF or go with yosh since they did "help" build the motor.
