QUADZILLA GUYS PLEASE HELP!?!?!
#1
I am leaving to Idaho next week and need to fix my air leak. When I put pressure in the motor, air starts leaking out the exhaust valve into the crank case. It leaks past the small oring. It will seal after a little time(applying the air pressure) but then after I ride it slides over or something then starts leaking again. There is enough room on the exhaust valve shaft to put two orings on it(between the bearing and the retainer) would that help? I know it would keep it from sliding around. Yes the oring is brand new from Suzuki. Please help if youve seen this problem. Thank Jason
P.S. Im talking about a lt500r 2 stroke Quadracer.

One of the people gave me a website with helpful LT500 building info. I came across something that might point you in the right direction. Here is a cope and paiste of what i read that made me think about your question. "LT500 which is equipped with a complex power valve, frequently they will leak through them. Particularly if the O-rings are old or worn. This is not terribly serious but an indicator you should service/overhaul the valve." You might not have a serious problem with the blow by and loss of air pressure so the overhaul might be what you need by a good mechanic. Hope this helps you some with your 4 wheeler.

What do you mean on the shaft? I know there's one on the left hand side on the adjuster-****-thingie, and one on the piece where the linkage hooks to. Is your set screw in the bottom of the cylinder in the indent on the valve? If it wasn't, that's the only thing I could think of that might let it slide.....
