Z400 Dunlops.

The Dunlops on the Z400 lasted 2 rides(8 Hours) before I tore one open. I really liked the characteristics of this tire but I will be needing a 6 ply tire. I am considering ITP Holeshots ( XCT and XCR) and Maxxis Razors. I would like to go to a 22x11x9 for trails as they will give me a little more ground clearance. The Holeshot XCR tire only comes in a 20" tire. A questions for those whom have ridden many different tires. Are these new XCR's as durable as the XCT's? For the price difference, should I stick with the Maxxis Razors?

I love my holeshots. Very durable so far. Have had them since Nov 2001. Ride the crap out of the desert and mountain trails. Slide well and hook up well. They even performed well at Glamis when I went there for the first time a few weeks ago. Razors are suppose to be good tires also. Haven't ever used them myself.

Running 20X11X9. I had them on the 400ex and the Raptor.
The good thing about them is a slightly lower profile than the XCTs so you still get a great holeshot with them. 22" tires suck up hp regardless of any gearing changes.
Cannondale is putting the XCR on the 10k Blaze (cross country race version) as stock tires so you know they are good.
22" tires are nice but the difference in ground clearance for those couple of tough areas don't make up for the lost performance and handling in my opinion.
The price difference isn't worth saving on the Razr unless money is really tight. Sounds like you are already paying a premium so you should just go all the way.
