What should I grease on my Z? How often? I don't recall seeing any grease nipples on the machine anywhere?

The manual didn't say anything about grease nipples. I'm glad there isn't anything that needs to be greased all the time. I don't mind doing the periodic lube here and there but greasing after every ride or weekend just sucks.

Bbertram, I do believe that there is a zerk fitting on the rear shock linkage. Grease it monthly. I have not seen any others yet,... but then again I have not removed any plastic.

Default What to grease?

Am I the only one that this bothers? I'm looking at buying a new ATV, and was very impressed with everything that I have read so far about the Z400...but I just went to the Suzuki shop to check one out in person, and was shocked to see this!

Why don't they put grease fittings (zerks) on any of the front suspension joints? I like to be able to know there is grease in there, and push out any bad-nasties that may have gotten in over the last few rides! I realize that there is a risk of blowing the seals if you aren't carefull, but having to take the A-arms off every few months to re-grease them seems like a real pain the butt!

Has anyone had any luck installing zerks themselves?

There are three fittings on the rear shock. I wish it had fittings all over the place.

I was also surprised at the lack of grease fittings. I am planning on putting fittings on the front suspension. I have had the Z for over a year and the bushings seem to be holding up fine so far and I do a lot of mudd and water riding. Also the only fitting are on the rear shock linkage.
