Putting head studs back in 86 QuadRacer cylinder

I'm rebuilding my Quadracer from the frame up and just got my cylinder back and was wondering the best way to put the head studs back in.

You can take two nuts and thread them on and lock them together then run them down then unlock them or take an 8mm nut and insert a set screw a few threads and spot weld it on to the nut either way. If your just doing a few I'd just lock nuts together. Later.
