It will be held on Saturday, August 31 and Sunday, Sept 1 at Silver Lake Michigan ride area.

The nubers are growing and it looks like there will be a good mix a machines.

Except, I don't know of anyone bringing a Z.....

There will be anything from competely stock DS's, Raps, C-dales and EX's to all of the above being fully modified.

This will not be a drag only ride, but rather to just get together, have fun and compare machines and modifications.

Any Z's interested in coming out to Silver Lake?
Come on, nows your shot at showing us what the Z is made of (instead of reading about the comparisons in Dirt Doo).

Wonder how that will work. I hear Silver Lake is imposing strict noise limits and all atvs must have spark arrestors.. Wonder if they will wave that for this competition.

This will not be an organized event through SL, but rather show up and we will all ride and obviously do some drag racing while we're there.

The noise ordinance is not being enforced, atleast not much for the ATV riders. They seem to be picking on the Buggy group for sound. They are however checking everybody for spark arrestors, but that is easy to overcome. Unless your quad is running without a silencer, you are almost guarenteed to get in. I have several friends that run good aftermarket exhausts and have been there as late as 2 weeks ago, they were not even looked at. These are the same exhausts that claim to be 103+ decibals.

Come on Z riders, don't tell me that your scared of all the other stockers that will be there. Nows your chance to show what the Z has in front of a major crowd!

I think my buddies & I will try to be there. We're going this weekend (Saturday the 27th) too.

My Z400 is stock except for cutting out the pee-shooter in the muffler & 22" realtors.

I'll probably get smoked, but I plan to gear down before the end of august. Hopefully I could be competitive

If only we too could have over six hundred cc's, then we too could talk down 400's. Guess we Z's should just target some 250x's for races. If the Z had an extra 260cc's, it wouldn't beat the Z400 just by a little like the Raptor, it would smoke it, hard. Y'all just gonna have to wait till Suzuki puts out the Z's BIG BROTHER. hehehe

Vooduu,

Hey, atleast I got a response from another Z owner. It doesn't metter what "big brother" "papa" yadda" whatever, you are too far behind to catch up to me anyhow. Your right though, 400 (or whatever) vs. 660+ some, isn't fair, DO I POST LIKE I CARE? NOT!!! Did I say anything about fair? NO!!! I am just trying to get a little rise out of you Z riders, so take no offense.

I would just like to see a couple of Z's be out there with the rest of the mix of machines that will be there. Have fun, ride hard and and meet some new people.

Since you said nothing of fair, why would you respond about fairness when no where in my post ANYWHERE did I mention the word fair? Or'd you think I was flaming? I'm just jealous cause I can't go. Riding for me is not about winning or losing. That's what playing pool is for. I ride for the love, always have.
later.

Just got back from the dunes.

RAptor + K&N & everything else stock (even the tires!!) had no friggin' problems making it up the hills (even on stock tires, ARGH!!)

My Z400 (stock except for the pea-shooter cut off the silencer) was doggin' with the 22" realtors, I definitely need to gear down (13 front, 43 or 44 rear) and I shouldn't have anymore problems on take off. I may have to re-jet since I cut off the pea-shooter on my silencer and the top end seems to be gone.

BTW: The first time I went over the top of the 5th dune (the one with the giant warning sign), I was going 15-20 mph and holy $#$^ batman did I spook myself. All I remember is not seeing a plateau to land on and then I looked down on my friend, who was looking up, and the nose dove. *doh* I landed pretty safely, didn't roll it.
