Hello,

I just bought a '92 LT250R. I was reading the owner's manual (yes, it actually came with one!) and it states the engine must be run with a premix of 2 stroke oil of a mix of 20:1. Does this engine need that ratio? That's a lot of oil to be using. Is the standard 32:1 ok?

Also, I keep reading in the archives that the consensus is the LT250R weighs about 320 lbs. I checked the back page of the '92 manual and it says the dry mass is 373 lbs. That's quite a bit heavier. It definately felt heavier picking it up and also trailering it. I can tell the difference from lifting my wife's Blaster that is about 320 lbs. I can only guess that from what I've read in this forum about the LT250Rs, is that the 91-92 (am I right on this?) has a reinforced frame with more gussets and it has a different swingarm, perhaps a heavier one? The '92 also has those big, but useful steel stock nerf bars. But does all this account for another 50 lbs?

Thanks,
!*mr.bones!*

BTW : The '92 I got is 50 bored over with a DG pipe and it sure is FAST! It even has the stock tires on it that aren't worn out! The front ones look new (rear 50%)! And to my delight, a rebuilt rear shock.

i run maxima super-M at 40:1 in my '91. factory specs say 32:1.
as for the weight i know what ya mean about it feeling heavier, but i have never put it on a scale. i don't think that those changes would add 50 lbs, but i could be wrong. evrything i've read says its like 328-330 lbs dry. which would mean ~350 wet.

Thanks. I'll use the standard 32:1.
