Eiger oil change ?
#1
Does anyone know of a place to get a cheaper oil filter for the Eiger? Is there a automotive one that will cross reference? Also, when you check the oil, do you check it with dipstick srewed in or out? Thanks!

My dealer had a aftermarket one. $7 instead of $13. It's made by HiFlo and I think the # is 140138. Looked just like the factory. Even had the same #'s stamped in the top. Fram, K&N, and a few others make them though.

The best oil filter I have found for anything is by WIX, the WIX number for the Eiger is 51359 and is alot cheaper than the Suzuki, Also found the the best oil currently is by Royal Purple, I am running the 15W40 during the summer heat here in Missouri.

You just place the dipstick in the oil port and do not screw it down to check the oil. Page 58 in the August 2002 version of the manual. The oil filter cap threads are not run in but touching the filler hole upper edge.
