Z vs. Cannibal in ATV Action shoot out.....Z WINS!!?
#1
Just got my copy of ATV Action, and though the Cannibal beat the Z in every race, they gave the win to the Z! They said it was basically because the Z is so user friendly. And the Cannibal is a pain, maintenence nightmare, uncomfortable, with an engine that sounds like it is coming apart at the seams....for a thousand more dollars. So buy the Z, put a wider axle on it, and whatever else you gotta have and enjoy. The Z is a winner!

Alaskayfm hit it right on the nose. If you read the whole article it says that even their test riders disagree with the outcome. I thought they were the ones that decide. The test riders all liked the cannondale. I guess cannondale didn't advertise enough. I will give it to the z for trail riding, but only because of the reverse, that is the only place it even comes close. You said it yourself, the cannondale won every category! Just wait until the polaris predator comes out, even if it is a pile of junk I bet it will win the shootouts. Look at the advertising the polaris people have put in hi-torque publications(atv action and dirtwheels). How can the z lose every category and still win the overall? Don't get me wrong, I really like the z's, I almost bought one. But to lose every category and still win the overall, that's just crazy. I am sorry to ramble but this just doesn't make sence.

Anyone who puts any stock into what a mag says, well, ummm, that speaks for itself. Don't listen to them, both quads are great machines, the C-Dale is just for those who are nice and comfortable with quads already and the Z is just a little more new rider friendly. The test riders would of course want the C-Dale as they are very advanced riders and can totally utilize the C-dale's performance whereas 90% percent of those buying are entry level riders which is probably their target audience when doin these reviews. My .02. My girl and I love our Z's. I've ridden C-dales too, but I was just too used to the feel of my Z and didn't like the feel of it. I'm sure though if I'd had it for a while, that would all change, C-dale owners swear by their machines for the most part, others just swear at them. lol

Well, I don't buy the articles conclusions... these types of machines are for experienced riders and are not beginner's quads. Someone just put these guys out of business... PLEASE!!!

If you do not read the conclusions to the "shootouts" you get an indicator of the real winner. The conclusion is where the editors push their sponsers(sp?)
They are good reading material that is it.They mags will probably have a grand time picking on the new polaris. Its to heavy, no reverse, boo hoo!

I don't think that they will be putting down the polaris. Have you seen the ads that polaris has been running in hi-tourque puplications(dirtwheels and atv 4-wheel action). I am going to bet that the polaris gets really good reviews no matter how bad it is. They put a friggin book in the center of the magazines.

They admit it themselves.
The Z didn't actually WIN the shootout.
The Z got the nod for the average rider. I agree with that and everything else stated in the article.
What I don't agree with is the notion that the decision came from their shootout results.....They admit that it did not.
If life was grand, I would have both in my garage, but I will settle with the best quad for racing....and that is the Cannondale.

that artical was total BS. i luv the z and i am saying this. the c-dale whooped it in every catagory. i based my last purchase on what those articals said....wound up getting a polaris explorer 250. total POS. it has been in the shop numarus times for CV boots, cracked clutch cover, electrical problems, and one time the half shaft poped out and didn't go in right so it stripped itself....$320. i have owned it for almost a year now, and in that time i have only ridden it 2 or 3 months (do to fear of breaking it and bad grades). but even though the c-dale should have won i still am going to buy a z because 1) around here its almost 2000 cheeper and 2) i do more woods ridding......but that was possibly the worst/dumbest thing they have ever written.
