Choke - yes, cold mornings or quad is flooded from being upright.
Feather - yes, most of the time.

I found out if my choke on my Z is more than half way it wont start so I pull it back about a quarter of an inch and it starts. When I try to pull the choke farther it will just flat out die. My Raptor is not like that, the farther I pull it out it revs up and I think thats the way it supposed to be.;

Read your manual. It says what temps and what choke positions if any you should use. I've followed that, and she starts every single time first try.

hey,just imagine having a 400EX,they start but you need to mess with the throttle to keep it idling,there worse than a 2 stroke!

man, I didnt think anything was worse than a 2 stroke.... besides mixing the fuel you have to kick start it and hope it starts before you pass out.

When I tried to start my Z on sunday (50 degree F outside) it needed to have the choke kept on a bit to stay idling.

Once it was warmed up, it had no problems starting without the choke.
