Default What jet size should I try next on my Z400?

I just installed a Yoshi slip-on pipe and a K&N filter with Outwears pre-filter and the lid off. Yoshi recommends 152.5(?) with stock filter and airbox lid removed. They have not dyno the pipe with K&N filter so they could not help me. I first jetted at 150 but it would start missing at the very top end (almost like a rev limiter) and a little backfire when letting go of the gas. I rejeted it to 160, the backfire is gone but the top end still hesitates. Should I go higher than 160? Has anyone tried this combination? Please help!!! Missing on the top can also be from a rich condition. Try the 152.5 jets and also try putting a washer or 2 under the needle assembly. I think it's a number 4 washer. Try dropping a line to Corpsie on the washer deal.

Would it experience the same hesitation on the top end weather it's running lean or reach?

Usually if it's lean it will just lay down on the top and backfire when you let off if they are rich on the top they skip or what could better be described as a miss but is refered to as skipping.
