Hey i am deciding on a new QR500 or QM500
i know the manul will do better in water but i like the feature of the auto....

has anyone ever taken the QM500 under alot of water? i mean like up to the handle bars atleast?
cause alot of water crossing is done here...

does the belt with stand alot of stress cause we drive the QR500 to the ground and they all are running fine...

so i know how those work and i would like to know if you think a new QR500 or a new QM500 would be better...

well thanx for the thought,
Maxout

Hey Maxout,
You should go with the Quadrunner because you go through so much water and you heard what Marcus and I didn't and it still works great so I would go with the Quadrunner and it is about 300 dollars cheaper and you could use that money for mods.

Maxout,
If you are planning to go into water that will reach the handlebars than you better plan on modifing your machine no matter which one you buy. You will need to snorkel the air box for sure, I would also install a outerwear prefilter on you airfilter they help keep out water. You can also buy a second prefilter and cut and clamp it onto the snorkel to keep mud and water out. If you go with the auto you can seal and snorkle that too like i did to my sportsman,(the manual won't need this mod and you won't have to worry about it). You may want to snorkel your exhaust to, I made a clamp on one for the sportsman which works great since I only put it on when I need it, and it doesn't get in the way when I don't. You should also get some electrical grease and apply it inside the spark plug cap and any other connection. The last major area will be brakes and bearings, water will eat these quickly if you don't clean and relube your wheel, suspention, and axle bearings often. I hope this helps---stay dry LOL.

Maxout... I agree with Jpmn.
I myself questioned whether to buy the QR500 or the QM500, but after seeing other auto's having trouble in the water, I bought the QR just to be safe. I'm very happy with it...
