Default Mounting kill switch on Z400

I have a pro design kill switch I want to hook up, but I want to be sure not to hook up the wrong wire, I know the short wire gets grounded to the frame, but which wire do I hook up the long one to. I have an owners service manual but I am not good when it comes to electrical stuff, so if someone has added the switch please tell me which wire to hook it up to and what color the wire is.

thanks for any and all assitance.

I soldered the Long wire to the + side of the coil and the short to the – side it’s just that simple.

Don’t F___ with your CDI

ground the short one the long one goes into the wire loom that feeds into the bottom end. i believe you splice it into the black/red wire...or was it black/white. i dunno just hook up a power testing light to the long wire...then start the motor and start stabbing wires in the tranny loom till you find one that shuts the motor off with the tether off ....theres about 4-5 wires in the loom there and 3 diff looms, 1 to CDI 1 to starter and the other runs between the CDI and chain guard into the tranny...thats the one you want. be sure to tape everything up afterwards with electrical tape...keep dust and dirt and other unwanted's out
