I've got 5 different people on another forum complaining about a crack in the Vinson frame somewhere at the rear close to the brake light on a part that runs from left to right. This list is growing and I would like to know if anyone here has seen or heard of this problem!

 

Our dealership hasnt had any such problems.

 

Sorry if I scared any of you with this post but I do believe I have an answer. The vast majority of people in my area (Quebec, Canada) use a passenger box and regularly carry a passenger (easily 200lbs + combined). The Vinson has one of the lowest rear rack ratings at only 135lbs, which is suported on the frame. This quad will not take kindly to overload situations. All other models/brands do not have this problem. Bottom line: Do not severly overload the Vinson's rear rack.

mines broke twice. just something you have to live with when your a vinny owner.

 

when your frames cracked did you hear it?? can you feel a difference while riding?? is there any signs to look out for?? with all the frame braking threads i'm wondering if i should rip mine apart and check.

 

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I have been seeing it is only 2002 and 2003 frames breaking?

 

2002's are the most notorious. There are reports, albeit less, of 2003's and 2004's and I'm sure 2005's will be coming along soon. Just periodically check the bike (Just as you should before ever ride right [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]). I repeatedly beat the living $#%^ out of mine, and nothings cracked yet, but I only got 300 miles so far.
