Default REV LIMITER REMEDY

ITS SUPER EASY. TAKE YOUR BOLTS OFF AS TO ADJUST YOUR CHAIN AND GET ABOUT TWO INCHES OF SLACK IN THE CHAIN. THEN UNSCREW THE TWO SMALL BOLTS HOLDING THE LOCKING CLIP ONTO THE SPROCKET (CHUNK THESE AND USE ANOTHER BOLT, I BROKE ONE ON THE REINSTALL, THE ALLEN HEAD BOLTS ON YOUR STOCK EXHAUST END CAP FIT PERFECT). PULL OF THE SPROCKET AND SLIP IT OUT OF THE CHAIN AND PUT THE 15 TOOTH ON, BOLT IT BACK UP, GIVE YOURSELF ABOUT AN INCH OF SLACK ON THE CHAIN, TIGHTEN UP THE BOLT ON THE SWING ARM AND YOUR READY TO HAUL ***!
HEY ROD WHEN ARE YOU GUYS COMING BACK TO KERMIT?

Default REV LIMITER REMEDY

Hey guys, I just wanted to say that I feel your pain on the rev limiter. I had a 2000 DRZ400E and I loved it. As soon as I added a Pipe and a filter and jetted it, I had the same problem. It hit the rev limiter faster then I thought it should. Everytime I raced around with my friends they thought someting was wrong with the bike, but I could tell it was the rev limiter. The plug was a light tan and it ran awsome to that point. I planned on changing the sprocket, but I ended up selling it in 2002 to get my Raptor, If the z would have been out then I may have gotten that instead. I loved the DRZ engine, but all my friends were on quads and I was the only one on a bike so I changed over. My room mate now has a z400 and it does the same thing too ever since we put his Yosh pipe on. I would say (as most of you have) to either go the cheap way and change the sprockets, or go for the Yosh rev kit if you can bring yourself to spend that much money. Later guys

Well for the Bike they had a kit with a new CDI that had an 11000 or so redline and new cams, and I think valve springs that were stronger. I could be wrong and maybe they don't make that lit for the quad. I used to just call them, by the time the bike kit came out I was ready to sell mine. I was not cheap either, like 700+. I think they do have big bore kits for the Z, but I am not 100% sure they make that rev kit for the quad or if at all.

Sorry guys, I've been out of town for a week and just had the chance to read your replys.

Moose sprocket with a RM250 clip worked fine for my 400. Any of you guys have their 15 tooth on yet?

Please let me know what you think.

We'll be going back out to Kermit dunes on the 20th of this month.
