Broke FRAME Z 400
#37
All of you guys are talking about the z400 braking frames. When did you buy them? I heard that the later built z400s and the kfx had good frames because they were built later. I do not know this for a fact i was just told this.

Mine was the first LTZ400 into Australia. Its no great hassle. Frame has been replaced under warranty, gussetted and powdercoted a beautiful blue color. It just means its now stronger than it ever was. I STILL LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

I'd say that having your shop/or you take everthing off your quad to replace the frame is a MAJOR HASSLE!! Plus the extra expense of gusseting (to cover their lack of engineering on the replaced frame) and powder coating is another MAJOR HASSLE!! I bet your DEALER gave you a loaner Quad Z/Kfx-400 to ride while yours was down and out waiting for this no hassle deal! This new (Hassle free) generation is more forgiving than I would ever be!!

I case my 400EX quite often, because I have the suspension set up soft for trail riding....
and I don't have any cracks.... I weigh 200lbs.
I think Yamaha has their $h!t together now with those trannies...
I love the thought of the Raptor's power, soft suspension, and reverse... but I know Honda has something WICKED up their sleeves...
and you KNOW it will be dependable
