Vinson Belt Replacement

Vinson Belt Replacement
The service manual says to replace the belt every 1200 mi. I'm fast approaching that and was wondering how many owners have already done it?
I'm inclined to think that the belt has a lot more mileage left in it and that Suzuki is just being conservative. Plus you need a special tool to R&R the belt.
So before I spend hundreds, I thought I'd ask you to share your experiences.
Thanks,
Mark

Vinson Belt Replacement
Mark:
The Vinson belt is a large belt, not a puny one like the one on my Prairie. It's almost the same size as the one on my snowmobile. I think the 1200 mile replacement figure is simply a money making ploy by Suzuki. Pull off your clutch housing cover and examine your belt and clutches. Blow everything off with an air hose. If your belt isn't frayed, cracked, glazed, etc. I would button everything back up and keep running it. Plus, I read somewhere on this forum that they wanted close to $200 for a new belt. Ouch!!
